Haiti Relief Update

Following the devastating December 1988 earthquake in Armenia, JDC airlifted 61 quake victims to Israel for surgery, prostheses, and therapeutic treatment, and constructed JDC's Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Gyumri (formerly Leninakan) to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation program and training for occupational and physical therapists. Today, JDC’s immediate disaster relief efforts for victims of Haiti’s January 12th earthquake include life-saving medical aid and supplies through both our Israeli and American partners, as well as a feeding program through a local NGO.
